Sooner or later, it will happen. It's going to be weird one day when all is left is 2 big airlines.
 
If the rumors are even close to true, then the APA got a pretty generous offer from Parker at a closed doors meeting in order to get them to back this. This one is going to be interesting.
 
I've read DAL + 3%... Parker needs them just as bad imho. The next few weeks ought to be interesting.
 
Yep, I've heard the same, in addition to a bunch of other sweeteners. Imagine being in the APA's shoes: you were expecting massive concessions while in bankruptcy, but instead, Doug Parker comes along and offers sizable pay raises and other improvements. I think I'd support his takeover bid, too.
 
But what to do about the list? Or, with DAL + 3% does anyone - AA/USAir East/USAir West even care? Of course they care - but does the money grease that thing smoother? I was hoping for the mash-up and fireworks.
 
Exchange a terrible management/pilot relationship for a slightly less rancid one... oh the irony. The bigger picture in my view is what becomes of scope, regardless of how AA emerges. My bet is UAL scope would be pretty darn close to whatever happens with AA.

There will always be fireworks! It just wouldn't be the same without.

The rumor is that Parker has proposed extensive fence provisions that would make the list a minor issue. The fences wouldn't fall until a huge number of Easties and APA pilots retire, making the issue almost irrelevant. But who knows what the truth is. It's all just rumor at this point.
 
This, if it even floats, will be the SLI fight to end all SLI fights!

Oh... my.... LORD this would be awesome to watch... From the outside.

We had a pretty mellow SLI and we still have the occasional nincompoop that demands a "Do Over". Can you imagine APA versus USAPA versus the Westies?
