Big fan of the older-style birds. The 1980s logo is too...1980s, and not everything that came out of the eighties should be preserved.

I think it's perfect. There's nothing more American than plastering the biggest, loudest American Flag you can find on to the largest available surface. Ideally, though, it would say "MURICAN!". 8/10.

Even Grey hound had the sense to keep the "red white and blue" sequence. My guess is AA didnt because they wanted to avoid looking to similar to the Grey Hound logo.

Maybe it's a younger generation thing but I like it. Huge-ass flag on it or not, either way there's going to be a bunch of fat people waddling out of it at the end of the flight complaining about seats that are too small and a lack of peanuts.

The thing is, that's not representative of the American flag. If there were stars in the blue area, sure. But the way it's designed looks like clown shoes. Or Where's Waldo.

Someone was commisioned to design a new livery and that livery was agreed upon presumably by a large comitee. Design asthetic does have value and so, yes, the paint job DOES matter for all the people who keep trying to say it doesn't.

This is definitely design-by-comitee and it shows.
