AA jumpseat online?

BajtheJino

I'm looking at you.
Called to list with Eagle for the jumpseat today and the lady got a little pissy with me telling me I had to do it online now and they would no longer take this over the phone?
Xe employee, btw.

If you are listing as a D6 (off-line pilot) you are not required to list on that website yet and you should be able to list over the phone. Only a handful of airlines actually have been setup to list on http://ifc.id90.com. But, all US Airways employees and the two wholly-owneds (EN and JS) are able to list via a direct link from the US Airways Wings website and without a password. The problem with listing online is sometimes you simply do not have access to a computer to list. Since flights have been so full lately sometimes you may need to decide to jumpseat last minute on an AA flight with a connection (versus the non-stop you just got bumped on) just to get your commute started.

When this happens just hang up and call again and get someone else. I always call the non-rev help desk and rarely have any problems with them not wanting to list me.

I love having the ability to call and one day list on-line. However, I really don't think that they should take away the ability to list at the gate. Sometimes last minute changes do occur.

What ever happened to simply showing up to the gate, checking out in CASS, then asking the Captain? geez...

From EL

A pilot from another airline recently told me how frustrating it is to jumpseat on AA/AE so I sent out a couple of emails. Here's a reply from AA's Director of Airport Operations:

My name is David Vance and Tom Del Valle asked that I address your OA jumpseat issue. With that said, D6/D7 travelers have multiple options for creating meal listings. The easiest is to go on the website https://ifc.id90.com and create their meal listing. The feedback has been very positive regarding that tool as they can access it 24/27 from anywhere in the world and they don’t have to call reservations.

The second option is to call the Non Rev Assist desk but they will only create the listing if it’s within 24 hours. In addition, they are closed overnight so it’s not always available.

The third option is to ask an agent to create the meal listing for them. We have put out multiple communications to please assist the D6/D7 travelers with a meal listing if they arrive at the gate without one. We have never implemented a policy that says we will not assist them at the airport. However, there are time crunch issues in some situations where they show up at the last minute because they were not able to be accommodated on their intended carrier. That being said our policy is to still to create a meal listing for them if requested to do so.

Let me know if you need anything else.

Regards,

David Vance

Read the August 16 Jet Link. it has explicit instructions, a URL and password to use the id90.com site. I agree the phone agents are getting a little nasty about listing people now.

Is this for all airlines that want to jumpseat on AA/AE? What if one gets bumped and wants to rush over to the gate to jump on the AA flight going to the same destination? Is that not possible?

My understanding is same day you can call, otherwise has to be online. Yes, they do give attitude! I just tell them that I obviously do not have Internet access and that is why I'm calling.

OK Here's the scoop.

IF your jumpseat cooridnator hasn't given you a specific login or link to access the NEW AA listing tool then you can still list by phone. You may also list by phone or at the gate if you don't have time online or it is down. You need to report this to your jumpseat coordinator and have him call or email AA's jumpseat coordintor (he/she will have the info). There is no need for the attitude received from AA.

Also there are two code D6U and D6L. D6L means you are on limited jumpseat status and if you aren't the first one to checkin in for the jumpseat you probably won't be getting a ride, if the gate follows policy.

Depends on the agent. If you're not listed and they are busy or not inclined to help, forget it. In ORD they will not list you at the gate, for example. Outstations tend to have more pleasant agents willing to help.

Agreed.. At ORD they look at you like you're retarded. There's literally no one standing there with me, and she's like "I can't help you dude".. Literally she said dude. Not kidding.

Gentlemen, if this happening you need to be contacting your JSC so this can be forward to AA's JSC. I know him personally and he will get the issues taken care of.

If you can't get on a flight because of lazy agent or you think you got bumped incorrectly you need to visit this site and fill out the I got bumped form. It gathers all the required info and sends it your JSC to follow up on. You need to stand up for privilege and protect it. The jumpseat belongs to the PIC of the flight and no one else PERIOD.
