AA jobs?

[ QUOTE ]
From what I've heard Mesa is ALWAYS looking for ramp help. Something to do with PHX heat and low wages......

That and AZ. being a "right to work" state!

Heat? Heck, we're down in the low 100's this week. You figure the black tarmac would absorb all the heat the the hot jet blast would help you with evaporative cooling!

Oh...

Wait.

Nevermind!

...which amazingly means that it's easier to get fired for no explainable reason!

Yup...your boss don't like you but you do a good job under no kinda warnings and have excellent reviews your gone.
Just like that and they don't even have to explain why you were fired. And you have no real legal recourse to sue...

FL's also a right to work state, which is why I think Disney is unionized. "Sorry, we have to let you go. You don't smile enough." Granted, when it comes to things like wages, benefits and scheduling the union doesn't do jack squat there, but at least they have a set of rules to keep you from getting fired if you look at someone funny. Without the union, I think Disney would have a larger turnover rate based solely on baseless guest complaints alone.

I'd love to see Disney's collection bin of baseless complaints. I know they're plenty enough in the airline biz!

I used to have a bunch from Islands of Adventure. Had friends in guest relations, and they would put together a notebook of the best ones every month. One of the guys I knew up there was the KING of getting guest complaints thrown out. People would come up to him in a screaming fit, and he would do something that would make them feel so bad, they would leave in embarassment.

Guest: "My father can't go on any of these ride! He's too fragile. Your park sucks and I want my money back!"

Don (name changed to protect the innocent): <weeps>

Guest: "What's wrong with you?"

Don: "I'm sorry. At least you can enjoy your day with your father. Mine passed away two days ago" <uncontrollable sobbing>

Guest: "I'm so sorry. Er. Um. Have a nice day?" <leaves>

Don: <smiling> "Sucker."

So Kells man I gotta ask....with everythign that you havev told me bout Disney world in times past your friend "Don"?
Was he "family"...I meant to be able to cry on que like that? I'm guessing that or an actor which in most cases is the same thing.

Just wondering...

Just a really good actor. He was dating my roommate (who is female) at the time. I'm trying to remember some of the other stunts he pulled before he was promoted to Ride & Show supervisor at Marvel Super Hero Island. Even after he became a supervisor, he would occasionally play the sympathy card to get a guest to drop it.

Although, a lot of the people that worked at guest relations (both Universal and Disney) were "family."

Ok, if you want a job with American going through Eagle is definitely NOT the way to do it. The "two companies" don't exactly see eye to eye.

Not necessarily. There can be a lot of anti-Eagle & anti-AA attitudes, but working for Eagle doesn't necessarily keep you from working at American. I spent 6 years at Eagle as a F/A, and put in my transfer papers in Sep of 2000. I was in class at AA in March of 2001.

If you walk around Eagle with an anti-AA attitude and you try to transfer and they call your current boss for a 'recommendation' and they tell AA about your bad attitude, sure you won't get the job. If you keep your mouth shut and do a good job and try to transfer you'll have better luck!

I thought AA owned Am-Eagle am I wrong - how would that cause a bad attitude, w/out the regional flights, the AA flights'd be more empty and there'd be fewer jobs at the major!

AA does not own Eagle in the same way that Delta owns Comair.

American Airlines and American Eagle airlines are both owned by AMR Corporation. Eagle and American are sister companies.

It's sorta like Chautauqua and Shuttle America. Both are owned by the sam holding company, Republic Holdings.
