AA Hiring - Internal Only

AA dispatch manager announced a new class of 12. Going to try and get the 12 internally, which includes Envoy. If they can't get the 12 inside, they will then go external.

I was going to say... Aren't they still being utilised as Project Workers?
They will be heading back to the floor next week to complete training and most likely all will be signed off in a couple of weeks.

Also fwiw...based on some conversations that I heard...probably lots of hiring on both sides prior to the new IOC opening...sounds like at least four classes worth total.

That makes some sense with the rumours around here that management wants to dramatically shorten the amount of time is takes a new hire to get trained. Apparently, they want the next new hire class here to be finished with training in 3-4 months. Typically it takes 6-9 months to finish training with some people taking up to a year to get finished with domestic and international training.

Wow. What takes an additional year's worth of training on top of the years experience or is that what it takes for internal with no dispatch experience?

If I were to guess they are anticipating some loss from those that don't want too move and I think they would definitely still offer early outs. It's a financially sound move for the company to offload guys at the top of the scale.

Common belief around here is that more people are going to move than the company anticipates. A lot will depend on the moving and severance packages offered, which is still being negotiated.

Well I can't speak for what they do and say when they are up there, I can only say what is being said down here. And that is, they want everyone to come and they are not making any assumptions on who may or may not come. And the more they hear everyone is moving, the less likely they are to offer a package. While I agree that it's benificial to get rid of senior (top of scale) and hire entry level, this company doesn't have a track record of that.
