A pilots diet?

Here is something I will eat right before I go up just to keep my stomach happy:)

One of these days you're going to be tired of being a healthy weight and in shape and all. ;) :sarcasm:

More important than what you eat prior to flying is learning to relax and calm down beforehand. If you're very anxious or nervous about the flight, it doesn't matter what you ate; a case of nerves combined with a little inner ear disturbance and that'll be all she wrote!

So how to relax? Beyond the basics of taking a few deep breaths before starting up or taking off, simply talk to your instructor about it. Make sure you have a thorough understanding of everything that will take place on every training flight. Not only will this keep you from being apprehensive, but you'll get more out of your training for it.

This also goes for being too excited or "over-amp'ed" for the flight; your body will react similarly, whether your affect or emotive state is negative or positive. Same advice applies; take a few deep breaths, settle down, and focus.

Do the above and you should be fine.

My very first instructor used to eat veggies and drink pop during ground lessons. like finger foods carrots, brocolie, fruits apples and such.

His favorite thing to do was grab a Coke and chow down some brocolie (sp) just before a flight. Then proceed to belch the entire time airborne. Now thats a smell I'm never gonna forget.
