A New Moderator: DE727UPS

Don has been a member of the website since the winter of 2000.

At NetworkJC this year, he expressed great interest in helping out with Jetcareers and volunteered his services as a member of the moderator team in the forums.

My first question was "Are you crazy?! :)"

During our conversation, Kristie and I realized that he'd be an excellent addition to the team here at jetcareers.com because he understands what we're trying to provide here at the website: Candid, multi-faceted, first-hand information presented in a fun environment.

He's certainly a person who you never have to guess what his views are.

And that's a good thing.

So Don, welcome to the "dark side"!

Gosh, I wish you could've found a way to fit "synergy" in there. It would've been a buzz word party in that sentence :)

In other news, congrats DE727!

I'm really glad to see this. I had a blast talking with Don, he's one heck of a dude and anybody that was at NJC this year knows exactly what I'm talking about.

Thanks

Thanks Doug, and everyone else. I've been interested in helping out at JC for a while but after walking in the door at NJC and seeing how committed Doug is to the the site, it made me feel like it's the least I can do is help out in an official capacity.

I'm thinking I might have to watch what I say, now that I'm a mod. But then, I remembered MikeD is a mod, too, so maybe not....hehe.

I have been a fan of DE727UPS for a long time, seems really dedicated to helping other people out, really tells it how it is, and is probably the best skilled pilot working in the US - who else can fly for a major, and only log 280 hours in a year without being management - that is one skilled pilot in my book!!

Wow, congrats Don!!!

Is that why Doug was walking around with a bunch of $100 dollar bills on Saturday? :nana2:

Nah, it's not like that!

Remember, I started in on that flight school almost on 'day one' of the website, and it's still up! :) I think I still have my old hypertext breakdown of one of their old ads someplace on the computer at home.

A moderators job isn't necessarily to impose their will on the forums, it's more or less being a "gardener" of sorts. Moderators wear two 'hats'. One hat is a participant, and the other hat is 'JC Good Squad', but they're not worn simultaneously.

Like I generally avoid moderating a thread in which I'm embroiled in a virtual food fight in ("I'm smarter than Warren Buffet!").

Don is not reluctant to tell me that I'm full of crap and I like that.

Should be get start referring to him as "Darth Eikenberius" since he joined us on the 'dark side'? :)

Congrats man`
Be easy on us, I know we get crazy sometimes but hey we are all really passionate people let's put it that way.
