A little trivia...

If the field elevation is 1400 feet and pressure altitude is 100 feet...

There would be an abnormally HIGH altimeter setting (barometric pressure).

29.92 - 31.22 = -1.3

-1.3 x 1000 = -1300

-1300 + 1400 = 100 feet pressure altitude

LOL... i didnt think of that! We took that one screaming, for effect!

thinking out loud here....

29.92= 100 foot indicated.

should be indicating 1,400

31.22 = change of 1.3" 1,300 ft

If your altimeter must show with in 75ft of field elevation. if not dont fly.

Your altimeter should show the correct reading if the setting is 31.22".

The "within 75 feet" would not apply if the altimeter is calibrated correctly.

Doh!

I hate it when I do that. We need a smily that shows a hand hitting the forehead.

I strongly considered keeping my mouth shut until after I got some sleep, I should've taken my own advice.
