A kick in the teeth! (ASA)

No written facts. But on several other forums there is some serious talk about Delta seriously downsizing ASA 80% departure guarantee flying out of ATL to 40% by early summer. And giving the other 40% to SKYW out of ATL.

Why, for some contract negotiating power.

This at this point is simply industry rumot, akin to check airman rumots, so take accordingly!

I feel like that guy who was hanging onto the rails on the Titanic and let go and hit that big metal round thing...

For those that saw the movie, you know what I am talking about...

Ohhh, that wasn't pretty.
Seems like DL wants 900's in ATL. Must tie in with kicking ASA's CS in ATL to the curb. Not good!

Rumor out of SGU is that SKYW has applied for a 182 mile over water certificate. If awarded that opens up all Caribbean islands to SKYW operations.

Or better yet. . . give those 900 to DL mainline. . . christ.

le sigh x eleventy billion.

"Scope. . .yeah right."

You think the DALPA boys would fly them for anywhere near what the dudes at ASA or any regional would? They SHOULD just bite the bullet and attempt to stuff the genie back in the bottle by saying "YES, we'll fly them for what you pay regional pilots!" to get them back where they belong.

Get scope handled first, deal with pay rates later.

Move them to mainline, make mins for them 1500/500 and a decent mainline rate (40+), and the line will form!

The best and most extravagant rumor I heard was that delta needs to keep airtran at bay and wanted skywest to help out midwest with some sort of a deal (extra flying, undisclosed cash) to help fight off a takover from airtran. Delta in return for the sideways favor will buy back and take asa off of skywest's hands. Rumors are great and lots of fun! :)

A friend of mine and his partner both fly for ASA. They told me in the original contract of sale that Delta put in the stipulation that they can buy back ASA at anytime.

I forget what the other stips they claimed but they greatly favored DL if they wanted to buy back ASA. Now mid you this is all conjecture.

But it could happen. Just look at Cingular. AT&T spun off their wireless division. Then SBC and Bell South merged and bought AT&T.

And now the *new* AT&T just bought back Cingular.

Something simular could happen at ASA! If so I hope for a staple!
