A job!

I drive planes
An offer anyway, that I am absolutely accepting. :rawk:

To be a CFI over the summer at the flight school where I did all of my training at. I won't be starting until May when I am home for the summer from college, but I am really looking forward to doing some instructing, especially at this place.

You're leaving for the summer?!? Carbondale is the best in the summer! It's waaaayyyy more fun than in the school year. Sunset concerts at Turley/Shrock, the spillway, Lewis Park block parties, kegs and eggs at 9am... Ahhh, fuzzy memories... Just sign up for one AVM class over the summer (preferably one that meets once a week for 3 hours) and maybe one flight course, that way when you're a junior/senior and CFI, you'll have some extra time where you can flight instruct in your last few semesters. It's win win, you'll get the flight time you want shortly before you leave, you'll have extra time when you're almost done with school for flying/drinking, and you'll get closer to the people you hang out with all summer than anyone else in the rest of your 4 years, or 5 years...

P.S. The people you meet and hang out with over the summer usually work at local establishments, or are friends with those people=big time hook-ups at the bar with free drinks/no covers when school is back. Actually, when the rest of the students start coming back (if you've been there all summer) you'll hate it and want all of them to leave. C-dale summers were the best part of college!

Thanks everyone!

Well I am not even in the flight or AVM major down here, and am also only in my second semester of freshman year, but I can still see (and have heard) what some of the benefits to that are. I imagine the spillway and swimming across kincaid would be way more fun in July than it was when we tried it in October. :cwm27: However, I have all of the same stuff back home over the summer, and would rather work at this part 61 place instead of SIU anyway. However, I am still going to try to do some part time CFI stuff during my last 3 years here, and still instruct back home over the summers.
