A good 767ER question from Frog Flyer

The nice thing about having Chuck Norris as part of your crew is that if your APU craps out and there's no huffer cart at your destination, then you can just have him grab the fan's spinner and do roundhouse kicks until you have the N2% for an airstart.

The cheklist for that isn't in the QRH, though. It's in the CNRH.

So it sounds theoretically possible for the 2 FO's to be in the left and right seats with the CA sitting relief during the landing. Is this allowed, or do you arrange the break schedule so that the CA is never the relief pilot during landing? Does the FO ever land from the left seat (or CA from the right)?

Relief FO or regular FO are both fun in my book. There are aspects of each job that are enjoyable.

Having that third pilot is great. I'd forgotten how great the 3 man crews were back in the 727 days. Seems to be a lot more cabin issues on these international trips. Having 8 flight attendants...they all seem to need something done.

Enjoying Bucharest right now. It's great. However, if you like gorgeous women and cheap beer...avoid this place.

What cities from JFK do not require the relief pilot? I am guessing LGW and places in Ireland are just under 8 hours westbound -- that said, does SouthernJets have a line in the contract that says a relief pilot is required during home base hours of 1AM to 5AM etc. regardless of flight length?

I ask that because I guy I know who flies for American says they always get a relief pilot on the JFK-LHR flights that leave after around 10PM, and the ones that come back really really early east coast wakeup time.
