Getting bored of instructing and am looking for a change of pace. I'd prefer to be handling the controls instead of teaching how to fly.

Any other options out there?

Check out a drop zone near you and see if they need someone part time when you're not instructing

Seriously, burned out after 200 hours of dual given? Good luck...

Aren't some of the regionals hiring people with times similar to that? Maybe you should apply to some of those.

That doesn't make sense. I know guys who have cfi'd for 1 year and gotten 600 or 700 hours and I know of guys who have worked for small FBOS and built 100 hours in a year. So... maybe its taken him two or so years to get 200 hours of dual. Kinda of a rude response if I might add.

Btw to answer your question regional's are hiring but might not have enough time. I would go to aerial mapping.

I need a 182 Pilot to do skydiving work out in Winsted, MN for the rest of the weekdays this month still if you're interested.

PM me

I can see where hugs is coming from.

The word "bored" might have prompted that. And I cant say I didnt feel the same when I first read it.

I dont know what kind of instructing you have been doing, if it just Private, or if youve got the II, MEI ratings. I did around 700 VFR dual given before I started doing instrument work with students and it was starting to wear on me. When I started doing the commercial, CFI, Instrument, it was very refreshing. Just a thought.

Look around. I'd be willing to wager that the regionals would be your best bet with your current times.

add another worthless post to your count...

It's called laziness. Did I want to be a CFI? Hell no! It wasn't my long term goal, however I was told by people more experienced then myself it's the right way to go. So I CFI'ed for two years, learned more about myself as an aviator then I could have ever imagined. I didn't enjoy it, I wanted to move on, however I busted my ass for my students and was pretty successful at it. The entitlement to the right seat of a jet is strong now a days.

There isn't a right way or wrong way to achieve your goals in this field. If you're determined, you'll make it work whether you're a CFI or an ATP.

He never said he needed a jet job! Just that CFI'ing wasn't for him and he wanted to fly, which is more then understandable. I don't know why you choose to attack members instead of helping out on this forum.

I have a bunch of friends (and there are plenty of people on here) with flying jobs that either have no CFI, or are CFI's but never put it to use. Survey work is what most of my non-CFI friends do and they're loving it. Most of the survey gigs are better paying then CFI, more adventurous, and you get to fly...

I also have banner tower friends who love their job, as well as diver drivers. I even have friends that are freight dawgs that aren't CFI's.

Do you have any idea what you'd like to do? If you can narrow it down, it might help people on here with more specific options/connections.

Just a helpful hint. Always show yourself as a positive candidate for the company when presenting yourself for a job. Using the words, "bored" and "prefer to handle the controls" are sure not going to show yourself as a positive candidate to company that is browsing JC looking for a pilot.

I goofed up my first interview when I started asking about pay. Just things you learn in life...

i think teaching is fun. Better than flying a plane on auto cruise. Have 700 dual,2000h tt,atp, mei, cfii.

Looking for job.

Only 2 years?

And you're giving "entitlement" lectures????
