The quality of the pics doesn't give them the respect they deserve :D That would be such an amazing flight to take! Thanks for sharing !

Hey give me a break, I am old and I was taking the pictures while I was flying alone and through the windows. :D

Nicely done Bob!

One of my biggest regrets is that I never took a 172/182 (any private plane for that matter) up while I lived in Portland.

I loved driving down Washington 14 on a pretty afternoon with the top down, great place indeed!

:rawk:

Bob, looks like you were near Hood River, how was the ride today?

I just discovered 14 in WA because my bro recently moved up there. Indeed a great view of Mt. Hood and various other peaks along the way.

I have family in Longview, Wa, been fishing in the Columbia for sturgeon and these are great to see.

Have you climbed Beacon Rock yet? It's got a great view from the top of it.

Do you know any of the pilots that fly the AC690's out of HIO? A friend of mine used to fly for them before she got let go.

I think I was between Hood River and Cascade Locks. It was a great flight I came from S49, Vale, OR. with a stop for fuel at 9S9, Lexington, OR. On my way to 7S9, Lenhardts near Hubbard, OR.

Red Rock, Dog Mtn., Coyote Wall... Beacon Rock is real close to Cascade Locks Air park, I think it is blocked from view though. I don't know anyone currently flying out of HIO on the Turbo Commander.

Bob, Hubbard is where I used to practice soft field landings with my instructor. I wouldn't doubt if I left some C150 rigging behind there :insane:. Fond memories of the place though.

Beautiful. Just be careful out there for other aircraft not obeying the "right side of the river" common courtesy (or VFR cruising alts). It was over the gorge that I had probably my closest call with a midair. Other guy was cruising at the wrong altitude, on the wrong side of the river, and not talking or sqwaking. I don't think he ever saw me until I was planform about 300' from him.
