A Few Stupid Florida Aircraft Owners!

Kellwolf, Hey sorry about your FBO. Your pictures paint a picture than no pilot or owner wants to see. I would have to say thay you all got it the worst. I took a jaunt out to SFB this morning to check things out. DCA got spared. We only lost an Arrow. I didn't get a good look at Avion. Most of the small hangars had their doors blown off. By the time I got to Starport, they were just finishing up with the damaged aircraft. The airfield was closed witht he exception of the oversees charters doing the visual approach. Exec definitely got the brunt of the storm.

It really sad how many people dont care about their airplanes. At out field we have several with moss growing on the wings, no air in tires, birdnests, haven't moved in 15 years and the list goes on. I saw the pictures on CNN, I would guess that most of them were this type of owner or just very stupid.

It's pretty insensitive to call these people stupid. I made about 10 runs up to GA to take planes out of harms way. I had about 30 messges on top of that asking if I could fly more. Are you going to fly your plane out and leave your families and homes to be damaged or destroyed. The forecast was WRONG so lay off. Lots of people either tried to get their planes out and couldn't and lots of the ones left behind were secured very well.

If it's up to me to protect my loved ones and home or fly my plane to safety that's an easy decision to make.
