Not going for it? Well, I hope you're not going for it because you're no longer interested in being an ATC. If you have any desire at all to still be an ATC then you should take the offer.
I'll let him speak for himself, but not PUBNAT and he's a pilot through and through. Granted if he was with his last company I'd be harassing him if he didn't at least get the ball rolling and seeing how the cards played out on the pilot side in the interim.
No one is a fool for not taking this job. It is not for everyone. In fact, on the contrary, some are fools for taking the job, because this job requires a certain type of person and they aren't that type.
Hear hear.... There is a reason I got out. There is much that I could say, but I'll leave it at that it ain't the same animal it was. There is a reason that none (literally not a single one) of my senior ATC leadership took the Phoenix 2o Program offers that they received. There are also many reasons why controllers getting out now are intentionally steering clear of the FAA by going overseas contract, or DoD.
