Cool website: I sat next to a pilot this morning on my flight down to FLL with tons of stickers on his bag.....seriously...the thing was one big sticker.

I guess I should have asked this question to the pilot this morning....

Dumb question: Why do commercial pilots still carry the big chart bags? Can't you get updated charts and log books, etc. on PDAs? Just curious... :insane:

Because paper is still far more realiable than a PDA / EFB.

We have to carry them b/c we have to carry our flashlight, headset, company flight manual and all the Jepps. The company pays for the paper Jepps, so that's what we carry. If they paid for an EFB, that'd be cool, but I'm not gonna hold my breath.

Some of the older flight cases probably are only still in one piece because of the stickers holding them together.

Thanks for the answers. I assumed all that stuff would be stored up front. Now that I think about it....I guess you have to take it with you as change equipment throughout the day.

Ehh, kinda generic. The real cool stuff are from the guys that break out photoshop, print a bunch and leave 'em around in the pilot lounge.

Kind of like the guy who made the following sticker.

The DFW base, according to the rest of the pilot group, were a bunch of "Never happy Bout Nothin'" hick radicals.

Even to this day when I read someone the "riot act", I'm still just anothe "(former) Dallas Radical".

So some guys took it and made it into a source of pride and honor.

Gotta have some love behind the stickers to stick it on your flight kit, corporate stickers be damned!
