9L, 9E, XJ JCBA executive summary

Eh, whatever, I give up. Do whatever you feel you need to do. If it means that much to you after the roadshows, vote no. Nobody is holding a gun to your head. Do whatever you feel you need to do. If you feel 100 pilots out of 2800 are getting screwed, vote no. I'm pretty sure you have already made up your mind and won't be attending any of the road shows so when when it comes time to voting, vote no. Simple as that.

For those of us who actually care, our MEC representitives in class today said voting should start on the TA the first week of February. The voting will close on Feb 18th, and we will know the results right away. As far as the SLI, based on the timeline, if it goes to an arbitrator, we should have SLI results no later than May 1st. Let the cluster begin!

There are quite a few on here that were at the meetings in MSP and heard everything first hand. If anyone cares to reach out there are plenty here with factual information.

As for the roadshows..you MUST go if you have ANY questions regarding this TA. I had many questions before talking to one of the negotiators and they were able to clear everything up. Some of the items were even better than I expected and some were worse but the bottom line is that I left with no open ends in what I perceived the TA to be. This contract can NOT be all things to all people but it can be MOST things to most people. There are many positives in this contract.

Bottom line is, you have a vote and a voice...use both. Get educated and then vote.

Like it or not, this TA is gonna pass. Simple majority between all 3 pilot groups is needed so its pretty much 50% plus 1. So instead of burying your head in the sand and bitching and moaning realize we are now 2800 pilots strong. Our MEC chairman told us a story today. On that friday the TA was passed, our ALPA reps and the companys laywers were sitting there finalizing the TA. The whole time they were in there, the chief negotiating guy for management had his fists clenched, red as an apple, and wouldn't make eye contact with our reps. When the agreement was reached and everyone had to shake hands, this management type stormed out of the room, never saying a word and left the hotel. You know why, cause he lost. We gave them a take it or leave it proposal and they caved. You know who this management type was, he belonged to 9L. That's how these guys operate. Anything to screw you guys over and save a buck. But now we will have one contract, one list. So take it for what its worth, expect career progressions, and move on. We are better now than we were individually 7 months ago.

Good story! I'm guessing a fairy tale?

NOT a fairy tale!

This is THE deal, attend Roadshows if you have questions.

I see. I have heard from my fellow 9L pilots that if we just waited a while longer we would have gotten mesaba's contract. I just got an email saying that the mec's approved the ta. I really wish the mec would have voted it down so we could have gotten XJ's contract. I think XJ's contract is a million times better than this ta (for colgan pilots at least).

Go to you tube. Watch sarcastic viral video. Rewatch part on why didn't you go to Mesaba in the first place. Accept the pay raise that 9L would not have got stand alone. Watch the video one more time. Enjoy a robust laugh.

Um, hey walter sobchalk, I hope you realize that there are a lot of people at mesaba who would still be on furlough if it wern't for colgan needing pilots - hence the reason I didn't go to mesaba in the first place. I think a lot of these mesaba guys need to realize how lucky they are that pinnacle corp purchased their airline.

I bet there are. But hey, isn't the whole industry just luck any way? Like Colgan being bought by Pinnacorp and given shiny new Q400's earned on the backs of the 9E pilots. Then crashing one in the first year and being given 15 more and needing those pilots. All luck........ And then aquiring XJ so 9L gets a contract that actually has good things into it. Because I'm sure you guys would have have got an industry leading contract out of the goodness of Pinnacorp's heart. Just ask the 9e pilots how that went.

Yeah, walter sobchak, you do have a point. 9L is lucky that pinnacle corp bought us. However, 26.50 for a second year fo, having two separate pay scales for flying the same equipment, creating a situation where an fo could be making only a hair less than the captain on the same plane, and discriminating against 9L saab outstation pilots is hardly industry leading. But you do bring up a good point, 9L is lucky that pinnacle corp bought us.
