91 sim recurrency if you're already typed?

I noticed they don't have me scheduled for an oral. Would I not need one since I'm typed? Also, they have circling in the syllabus but at UPS we had to have VFR mins to circle. My type rating says "circling only VMC". Can that restriction be removed if I demonstrate circling during the course? Not that I really care. Just curious. They may choose not to train me on that based on the limitation on my certificate.

Limitations and restrictions from a certificate can only be removed by qualified examiners - and I believe it would require either a trip to the FSDO or an 8710. I never removed a circling restriction as that’s more a 121 thing - and I’m not really sure on that. I do know that I couldn’t touch a restriction without checking it- so SIC only or SIC required could only be removed during a PIC initial or transition check.

Your oral will probably only show up as an extra hour of brief or de-brief… in reality though your program training hours will show it.

91 has to have an oral check now regardless- so it’s probably just built in. Most don’t really do an “oral” still.
