I believe the 787 is being built to replace these aircraft. Although not enough can be purchased at one time by any airline with the state it is currently in. So my question is how much longer do you think we will be seeing these aircraft flying with the majors?

Years...those airframes are are still good and will be in airline fleets for years. Do you remember how long the 727 and now the DC-9 were active in fleets before retirement?

I agree with Max theses 2 will be around for along time. The fuel efficiency is still there and can get really cargo loads on them. The 757 is alot like the 727 you can fill it up with cargo and it will still fly.

Well, they built the 2006 Dodge Caravan to replace the 2005 and earlier Dodge Caravans, but they're still on the road...

Haha...CLASSIC! Now in my sig.

But you don't see too many 1986's out there these days...

You guys make me want to lock my doors and hide in the closet with the cats and a 12-gauge sometimes! :sarcasm: :)

All I know is the two of you (Doug and B767) are talking about love and being in the closet. Who's coming out?... speaking of, anyone heard from ScareBus?

They better keep 757/767's at UPS for another 15 years cause I don't want to have to go to school again. I'm done...stick a fork in me...

Ha! I wish!

I'm from California and it took a few years with friends with GL-10's and NHM-61 Sportsters to "un-evil" firearms for me!

The 757/767 are the best around in my opinion. They will be around for a long time. Didnt they just stop the 757 line a few years ago?

I question the use of turbo compressors in the new 787, I think there is going to be a lot of problems with those, along with the "heavy" use of electrical power on the airplane, something like 2 or 3 generators per engine plus 2 gens on the APU??
