767-400ER or just 767-400?

I know. What would CAL do with all your extra airplanes anyway?

Probably the same thing Comair would do with Expressjet's surplus erjs!

I know Delta uses the -400 for the ATL-HNL trips. I am not sure what the range and payload is but it comes in full every morning between 0530 and 0615. This flight schedule they are using the -400 for a few ATL-LGA trips. Doug when you start getting ship numbers for the -300 that are in the 170's and up they are the ER/ETOPS version. They also fly ships 1401-04(I think that right) to South America and the 1500's are used both Domestic and Int'l. Mostly South America. I think the 1600 series are used for both also. After many years of towing them around with the Supertug you kinda get use to certain ship numbers and the interiors tell all....

I have no idea!

Two wings, a couple engines and an operative forward galley coffee pot are normally the only things I'm really concerned with!

[ It's a cool airplane, but it's a dog. The -200 will blow the doors off of it any day.

Yea so I have heard round here. Something bout em hangin round FL250-FL290 to burn off fuel before being allowed to climb higher.
What I don't understand is that the plane has a new wing and more powerful engines ( 63,000 lbs. of thrust) then a 300 series and a 300 can carry more fuel. But the 300 is a better climber?

Also some more 400 trivia. According to my 757/767 bud, the 767-400 requires an additional type rating for the person that is lets say 757/767 rated. As the 400 flight deck has more in common with the 777,,, ( to include other different procedure that is 400 specific? ) And yeah, not a super large number of them around are there? and probably won't be many more with 767 production about to dry up.

When I worked as an intern with CAL, I worked with the 757/767/777 CP quite a bit and even flew with him a few times. The -400 doesn't require a different type rating. The 757/767 type rating includes all models. The -400 does require differences training and flights with a check airman. In fact, we took one to Hawaii for that very fact. We were checking a guy out in it. It's a cool airplane, but it's a dog. The -200 will blow the doors off of it any day.

Thank you.

Sorry training not type rating lol, Even Dougs "Word" program won't help me with that fubar LOL.

Fun 767-400 photo here:

This photo was a topic of discussion with our maintainers. But since I don't know brakes that much, I was lost with their explaination of the possible cause
