For all your, um, image needs.

His Majesty's Generator.
If that RAT doesn't spin up, I'm probably a dead man. Last I checked I had about 15 minutes on battery, then an unknown number (= "I forget, but they were probably lying in AOM2") of minutes with the fly-by-wire assuming that an engine is still running.Wards off any malfunction one may have far from civilization.
It's nice in an airplane that when it's on battery power they really mean it.
No, sir.![]()
More pictures, less words.

No, sir.
This airplane, in this paint job, right here is what made me want to be an airline pilot:

Well, to be fair, the 727-247 with the proper Delta paint does it too.THAT paint scheme? Not one of the older widgets??
Well, to be fair, the 727-247 with the proper Delta paint does it too.
And even the 757 with Wavy Gravy; I rode in one to visit a certain large aviation college that I wound up not attending.
The -88 crew on the way into DAB made me want to fly the -88 too. Laid back short haul guys and gals.To be honest, I'd take the original Widget on the 727, or a Wavy Gravy 757 over the new paint any day. I think I fulfilled my JC A.net-esque post quota for the decade on this thread.
Agreed, same here ( got into the game a little late). Although I do wish they made a "red" retro painted plane. No, sir.

Battery is supposed to last 30 min. HMG (we call is HDG) is only for overwater ops (ETOPS). That is my understanding. A classic event for 757 guys to study was the Continental 757 that went into SE Alaska after a loss of all generators and standby power approach. Also, the gear up LOT 767 into Warsaw and why it happened. Good stuff.
That one they painted up for the museum? I wish it flew the line... :-(Agreed, same here ( got into the game a little late). Although I do wish they made a "red" retro painted plane.
What one at the museum? That one they painted up for the museum? I wish I flew the line... :-(
