757 Gone??

So if I quote you, will he see it?

It sucks that they don't make it anymore. The performance seemed incredible.

You really shouldn't feed him! Let him choose to continue to block me or not.

And yes, besides the planes incredible dead sexy looks. It's performance was through the roof. Hopefully Boeing gets back in the 200 seat market with the 797. And the companies future isn't only widebodies!

I flew an empty 767 on Thursday. It was almost scary. We were at FL350 about 20 miles from the airport.

Nothing like the 600 FPM I was getting in the 172 all the way through 3000'.

I didn't know until about 2-3 days ago when I stumbled upon this:
http://www1.airliners.net/discussions/general_aviation/read.main/3132574/

the cool kids over at a.net discussing the 757s death and why

The death of the 757 came as a result of the NG737 800-900. The 757-300 was the step in the right direction but I think that maybe that plane came too late to truly be a success. A 757-300ER would have rocked. Boeing was propsing it as a replacement for the 767-200ER but decided to scrap it and focus on the 737 and 787.

Like I stated previously hopefully Boing will get back in the 200 seat market and make a plane with the 757 performance and not some weak underpowered 27k lbs thrust jet. My hope is with the 797. I know it is going to be the 737 replacement. But maybe Boeing will get smart and do a two for one and have a variant of the aircraft fill the void & mission of the 757.

Time will tell.
