Just curious and submitting to the hive mind for consideration.
Was sitting in the window seat in the exit row of a UA 738 last week. I'm in that seat on different aircraft about 3-4 times a month or so, so it was strange to me that when we started the takeoff roll, a loud high pressure air sound was coming from the door, almost like the air was escaping from it. Sound lasted up through about 7,000' or so based on my looking out the window and when the 10,000' chime hit. Sounded unusual to me, and the girl sitting next to me even commented "That's really loud - is it normally like that?"
Sound stopped after about 7,000', but would occasionally hear a click coming from the door. It was the type that rotates outward and up on a hinge.
I hated being "that guy" but I mentioned it to the FO on the way out who said he would write it up. Was just curious what would cause that.
