huh? you need everyone to explain the same thing?
crazy.gif

if you mean you *don't* need everyone to explain the same thing, then you should do a little more homework before asking your questions (see if you can answer them yourself first)... that way people don't feel the need to explain things over and over again. KWIM?

Brian,

Let's not think of things in airline terms for a second....

I drive a 1997 Nissan Maxima. It's a good car and has treated me well over the years. The New 2004 Nissan Maxima's are a much better car. They have more power, are slightly bigger, new technology, updated interior, etc....

Now how come everybody that has 1997 Nissan Maxima's isn't getting rid of them and getting new 2004 models?

1. My car is bought and paid for. I owe nothing on it.
2. Insurance is cheaper on an older car
3. I do not have the money to put a down payment on a new car
4. I prefer the size of my car a little better, the new one is a bit too big for me
5. Some people like the styling of the old car better
6. Some families might decide to replace their other car before replacing the Nissan because the capabilities of the other car are more in need of updating.
7. My car does it's job just fine.....
Just because a manufacturer makes "upgrades" to a design does not mean that it is SO much better than the previous model that it justifies the added cost of adding them to the fleet. Think of the added training cost, maintenance, equipment, spare parts, maintenance facilities, etc... that would need to be added. If you current equipment does the job effectively enough it is not worth it to replace them!

No. I am positive I said I "don't need" but a moderator changed it.

So now it is a conspiracy....

Brian, like I said earlier, please think before you type. Sit back and try to learn from others before you start to make a fool of yourself with your senseless posts.

I did say that I don't need everyone to tell me the same thing and I went over it. Now tell me why a moderator wouldn't do that? Off course at least one of them would. And I know it isn't. You all do this for fun. One takes the opinion of the other and turns into a flame war. If I am making a fool of myself then why do you care to help? I know you don't care less about me and frankly I don't care about you either. Just ignore me and that's all.

Let's not be too hard on 'em guys/gals. He's a good kid, and he's here trying to learn about the industry. His inexperience and sometimes ignorance of things should not always be thought of as faults. We should try and help him learn. He does not come to the boards with any ill intentions.....

Dude, honestly I think that's going a bit far. There have been hundreds of times I've meant "can't" and type (or even said) "can" or "don't" and "do." It's a simple and common mistake, and IMO more likely than a moderator changing your post. Believe me, they have better things to do.

[/ QUOTE ] Brian, let me make this very clear to you and everyone else on this board...If a moderator changed a post (any post), it would come up as "edited by so & so" and your post does not show that, so i wouldn't accuse anyone of such a thing unless you have undeniable proof. I checked the admin logs and there have been no modifications of your posts - you must have typed it incorrectly but thought you typed it correctly?!

Anytime we make changes, it is for the good of the board only - we don't care what or how the members write their posts, we only care about whether the content fits... we don't change anyone's posts unless it's absolutely necessary and yours was not what we would deem as a "necessary post to change" since your spelling errors are not something we consider important. we dont' fix anyones spelling errors, it's just not on our list of importance.

listen up and understand that when you accuse people of doing stuff that hasn't been done, it looks more unfavorable on you not them. not to mention that there are no "take backs" on accusations, there can be "take backs" on assumptions which if you were thinking correctly when you typed the "moderator changed it", you should have said "I assume a moderator changed it?"....understand? In the adult world, accusing someone of doing something unjust is not a good thing to do unless you have absolute proof of such accusation.

If I am making a fool of myself then why do you care to help

[/ QUOTE ] to be honest.. because you'll never make it in the aviation world if you don't listen up, do your research before asking a question (any question) and taking critisizm(s) constructively... if you want to make it as a pilot, it's best to listen not only to your elders but to your peers... these people are your peers, they want to help you succeed but you don't seem to want to help yourself succeed and we see that when you don't listen about various things and then get all perterbed. you KNOW you should be finding the answer or problem solving before submitting a question. the reason people are telling you "situational awareness" (if you hven't already looked it up via dictionary.com) is becuse you can easily answer the question yourself right there in the thread but choose not to. They cannot do your work for you and they're job is to give you constructive critisizm bluntly, so that you learn from your mistakes. One thing you have that is working against you right now is that you can't take critizism constructively.. in the adult world, if you can't do that, you guarantee yourself a long hard road in the years to come.

Brian, you may be 15 (that's a sophomore in HS right?), but i'm sorry, your acting like your 12 (pre-HS). If your not ready to handle talking with adults in an adult like fashion on adult topics, then it's ok to wait a few years and come back when your ready to talk about your future career (enjoy being young, you'll grow up soon enough!)! and no, i'm not saying "leave"(don't put that in my mouth), we can't make decisions for you and we won't. your life is your own.. your the only one that can guide it down the right path.

take this as constructive critisizm and learn from it.

(Emphasis added)

Way, way, WAAAAAYYYY too late with that particular advice--but thanks anyway, man! How's that saying go? Oh yeah: "Tis better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open thy mouth and remove all doubt." And its American Fighter Pilot corollary: "Never pass up an opportunity to keep your mouth shut."

As much as we'd all like to, ya just can't help those who won't help themselves. And God knows I tried. Several times.

Where did that kid go??

[/ QUOTE ]

He stills posts from time to time in the corporate forum. I did take all the advice as constructive criticism and I am trying to post less often with content that's suitable for my phase of training.

Brian,

Nothing wrong with posting or asking question not relevant to your current phase of training.

I ask question not relevant to my IR training here in the forum all the time.

I just never ask my instructor questions not pertanant to my training.

My mother always said the stupid question is the one that you don't ask.

But likewise you have to be able to listen and guage other peoples comments and responses and apply it to your own thinking.

A few weeks ago in here there was a post started by you talking bout the A320 flying at FL410 several people on the forum stated that it couldn't fly that high even some A320 drivers chimed in and yet you still argued with them.

Try to do that less and think and maybe research questions before you post em and you will be fine.

Anyways it is what I do....

Thanks Max. To tell the thruth I wasn't looking at what I was posting. Sorry to everyone for any trouble I caused. I promess I will be careful with what I say and I will post less.

Excellent commercial, nice techno music !!!, I was wondering, how many of them are scheduled to be in service to US carriers? and not to sound anti-foreign or anything, but do Brazlians make reliable aircraft??

Do Brazilians make reliable aircraft? See how there are hundreds, if not thousands of RJs flying around from Embraer....
