I have a student who is about to take his Private checkride. To meet the "3 hours in 2 calendar months" requirement, he has 1.3 dual in January, and 1.8 dual in February. I gave him the required endorsements and signed his IACRA app after the flight in February.
He has had to cancel a few times due to weather, and the next available opening is in April. That means his 1.3 from January will "expire", so once April is here, we will do another dual flight of at least 1.2 to bring the total back up to 3.0.
The question is, will I need to re-do the 61.39 endorsement so that the endorsement date covers the two calendar month period he is using, or is the original endorsement sufficient? In other words, will a 61.39 endorsement dated in February validly cover dual instruction from February and April?
Also, how long do IACRA apps stay active in the system? I don't want him to show up for the checkride and find that the app has dropped out of the system.
Thanks.
