Don't fear the turboprop. If you want to hold a line sooner (you do...), it's the airplane you want. Granted you have to trade airplanes with guys like @etflies but it's still pretty good.

Interesting, the Bro is the way to go. Wouldn't jet time look more attractive on the resume' though? Just thinking ahead...seriously though I've sat reserve at PSP and LAX at home (near CLD) and made 2hr call outs. Just have everything ready to go, and you'll be fine. I've had fewer short call outs here than I have fingers on one hand, most of the time I had a day or more. Oh and go Brophus. You won't regret it when your friends are posting about how messed up day 6 of their 4 day is after a winter storm hits and you're changing into shorts after getting home on a CLD overnight.
2 hrs to lax or psp could be tough during rush hour. To bad there's not a train that goes there. Which base has better trips?

Negative. Nevar. If I didn't know of a certain captain on your bid avoid list I'd guess you were paired with his royal grumpy.
We have Captains who have gone to United, U.S. Airways and Alaska from the left seat of the Brasilia. (They did have RJ time as FOs, but meh.)Not necessarily, there is some debate about it I suppose but in the end turbine time is turbine time. I can think of more than one Captain from both my previous turboprop only operator and my current company who had only prop trash time before getting hired by a mainline carrier. Spending your first year in the Brasilia offers better pay and a better quality of life because you hold a line faster.
And more chicks, because beta.

I'm 48 and in training 121. In a few classes behind me is a 58 year old. If you want it GO FOR IT! I've been wanting to make the jump for 5-7 years.
Any questions PM me.
I believe he said he "wants to make the jump" Thanks Complex..
