what does it mean. Im guessing its a simple answer like different axis like vertical etc.. but the term doesn't ring a bell.

Even simpler. It is just another term for seat. So 4-seat/6-seat aircraft.

A 4-place airplane has 4 seats, a 6-place airplane has 6 seats. That doesn't neccessarily mean you can fill all the seats and get somewhere, just the number of seats on the plane.
