Yeah, I've always felt that a Piper Warrior could be placed on the runway in any attitude that's relatively correct and it'll take it! The only plane I can think of that might rival it's toughness, regarding landing gear, is the Caravan.

I know at UND, not a single Piper Warrior ever flipped over or was damaged beyond repair from bad landings when they had them. Not so much with every other airplane UND has operated...

Yeah, I think that the Pipers can take quite a beating and still be alright. Tougher than the Cessnas.

I had a student go up for a solo flight and bend the firewall on a c172 landing like that. When I asked how his landings went he said "Great! They were all really good" just as the phone rang, it was the tower saying "you might want to get that plane checked out"!
