She is pretty too.

I have to say they would never show a man in front of the mirror getting ready for work.

Heck, If my socks match I feel I did good.
If you put on make up AND are featured in a feel good news story, then i truly hope they show you getting ready for work in front of the mirror. Otherwise, I thought they did a fantastic job of maintaining a women's feminism while succeeding in a male dominated (speaking of South America) career.
That being said, I have no idea about her actual credentials or the legitimacy of her rise to success. I just think it's cool a pretty girl from a part of the world where women are AT LEAST sex objects gets to be a captain.
no offense to my Latino brothers, I just happen to be a champion for the cause of women!

250 hrs to 5 yrs later CA of an A320. A huge well of experience to draw from.

But hey who am I Mr.-236-hr-RJ-pilot to talk

There's a reason when flying within Europe I stick with mainline large legacy carriers. British, Virgin, Lufthansa, KLM, Swiss, Iberia. Not Air France though.

Hide this from sully, I'm sure he'll go testify he wouldn't feel safe letting them fly his family

And he'd have a good point.....

Ab-initio 250-hr turned 5-yr A320 CA with no more than 4-5k total, and an ab-initio FO with 250 hrs total. 45 yrs combined age and 5k combined total flight time for an A320? That's not a well of experience to draw from.

That would all go well if "everything goes according to plan. Introduce a little anarchy and everything becomes chaos."

Jeez. The world has changed. I don't mean her sex (well maybe a little), but her youth. Her copilot's youth. I mean...the "seat of the pants" thing is a lost art. Now young people are learning to be captain for the first time or getting the crap scared out of them with a hundred people behind them.

Meh those pilots flying bombers and fighters in combat in WW2 had less time than them and did some pretty amazing stuff.

I get to find little bits and pieces of a B-17 on camp property where I build trails for off road cycling. One of the trails is called B-17. There is a B-24 that we found in Novato and by found I mean bits a pieces of alu and 50 cal casings that were popped off from fire. More training accidents than combat deaths during WW2

My favorite place in SF is a memorial to all those who flew West from SF and were never seen again. Lots of names on that wall.

I ate FBO popcorn and followed the FMS course. Noting our position from time to time. Soon that will become a novelty along with talking on the shortwave.

My stepfather, Gene Tigges of Fort Wayne, Indiana, was PIC of a B17 with roughly 80 hours total time to start. He managed to survive 23 missions and bring his crew home safely, save one, each time - formation flying, FLAK, the Luftwaffe, weather ...

Give the kids a chance here.

Good for her, but.................
Going to have to call out that first line. There are certainly way more than 450 female captains worldwide.

TP
The source CNN cites: "What with growing airlines, downsizing airlines, upstarts, and bankruptcies, we can only speculate that the number is around 450 women airline captains worldwide"
