21 jump runs today

We even scrubbed the last few since they were regular fun jumpers who just wanted to go out for a beer.

Had some of the best flying I've done in a long time (King Air)-

averaged 18 minute turns from the ground to 14,500 and back (12 pax + me)
had some of the softest landings with little power changes from downwind to touchdown in a long time
averaged 20 gallons of fuel per load

and the little lady decided to buy a new car while I was working.

Enough feeling good about myself' it's time for bed to wake up and do it again tomorrow.
 
Good for you! Definitely some of the most fun flying one can do. Get home from a day like that and you really feel like you've done some flying, eh?

I just started driving a Caravan at a very busy jump zone. Did 17 loads on my first day and had a blast!

I generally never touch the throttle from pitch-over at 12K to touchdown.

We're required to announce 'jumpers away' to the local Bravo tower, and when doing so I always leave the mic keyed a bit longer so the controllers can hear all the screaming when the tandem jumpers go out the door. Too much fun.

Yeah, I'm on with approach and CTAF and sometimes I get the screaming in the background... :D

Today though I was a little punchy and got a little creative with my jumpers away announcements. :)
 
Impressive! I did 9-separate Young Eagles runs a year ago on a blistering hot day in July. Average flight was about 25-minutes pavement to pavement. Hauled 27 kids total. By the end I was knocking fillings out on my landings. Can't imagine doing 21.
 
I had a busy day as well.

After doing 2 hours of early morning instruction in the Cub, I went to the gliderport to do 20 tows, and then fly a CJ-6 afterwards.
 
I did 19 runs today in the 182. Density altitude at 3,600 and most of the time just under max gross - about 29 minutes round trip each. Then consider nothing was hot loaded because were were short a tandem instructor and the packer is off on vacation somewhere. Long ass day.
I am glad the people I work with make it a blast.

Over the 4th I was up in the NW corner of Georgia and the local jump plane was out ALL day on saturday I believe it was. Literally all day.
Not sure if it was the same guy or not but I was sure wishing I could tag along for a few of them.
 
Nice. I always have a good time flying jumpers, and busy days are the best way to do it.

Although I'd rather be jumping. My dropzone is perpetually short on pilots and keeps needing me to fly rather than jump.

Only 3 or 4 jumps away from being certified, so I should have it finished up in the next weekend or two. Can't wait to put "'A' License Skydiver" in my sig line :rawk:
 
Yeah the average day here runs about 14hrs of Duty, with about 5-7.5hrs of flying, with around 12-16 legs. 21 jump runs though sounds like fun!
 
Awesome! I would love to fly jumpers in a King Air someday. I did 22 yesterday in the Twotter with a few formation loads thrown in. Fun stuff... gotta love busy weekends at the DZ.

They usually run a combo of King Air, Caravan and sometimes the otter.

The long summer days can be brutal

15 loads and 9.3 was my record. I about had to be carried from the airplane. All the jumpers were partying and having a good time. I drank a beer and went to bed.

There is a guy out of Hurricane, UT who is just a crack-up. "Two people just fell out of the plane, 14,000 all the way to the ground." His calls coupled with his downhome accent are classic.
