2014: How much did you work?

I had more withheld from my paycheck this month than I did the other 11 at a regional.
If I keep doing what I'm doing, I might have a tax liability problem again. First time that's happened to me in the aviation industry.

Where I have been in 2014 at the new place of work.

I blocked 724 hours and credited just under 1100. The differential is from training, vacation, sick, union days and about 200 hours of soft time in the form of min day credit and a 6 minute "landing credit".

All of that and outside of going to training, I spent zero nights in a hotel and the farthest I got from home while at work was 210 miles.

Well it could have briefly been 215 miles, like while you were turning base to final.

Actually make that 212 miles on base...I've seen how you all fly out there.

Well done!

It's VERY rare we land on 26, which would put me farther away than 210. If we do it's because the weather is down to less than "visual", the winds are really nasty out of the north precluding a low level turn in the harbor, or the most common reason, United's 737 is coming in and can only land on 26 so we are stuck with it as well.

And 2 mile finals are for fed rides and line checks mostly :)

Yes please.

As the year comes to a close here's the final numbers for flight time & a nice little route map all cluttered up. Not sure if we should make a separate thread for the year's flying or just have it in this airline thread, but here it is.

586.7 Hours

Why are you guys having tax liability issues? I did okay this year, and should still get a small refund. You guys take a look at your W4 withholdings?

This is me for the year... I'm somewhere shy of 700 hours for the year I think.

How was that over there?
I guess we used to do charters into there every once in a while, but nothing recently.

It's pretty cool over there, the approach puts you right over some awesome beaches and you can look up into Waimea Canyon as you come around. You can see Niihau really well coming in there and the waves break over a deserted beach on short final. This whole island is just stunningly beautiful, and I wish the flight from Lihue to PMRF was longer so I could sight-see more.
