2013 Hiring Outlook

Is Allegiant hiring directly for the new A319s or are new hires still rockin the Maddogs? Im pretty sure I saw one of the new 319s in LAS this afternoon.

As far as I know (which isn't much) you'd go into the 80 or maybe the 757 in HNL as that went WAY junior....

I am actually considering ATP, I know it's been covered a million billion times, but are you guys really all gonna hate on me if I go haha?

Save your money. Go to a small school. Get an entry-level aviation job if haven't already. Network there and here. ATP helps you network a tiny bit, does a great job making flying become a chore and charges you a premium for it!

Buddy of mine on the A320 in SFO for Virgin America told me this morning that Virgin is postponing their 30 additional aircrafts. They're taking 10 by 2015, and the next 30 after that to 2020... He also said hiring should be slowing down drastically or close to nil.

Correct. 1 A320 in 2013, 10 in 2015-2016, and then the 30 NEOs postponed to 2020-2022. It is a drastic slowdown in hiring. 2013 will require probably a class of 6-8 for that 1 delivery, and then whatever small amount for attrition. Usually for attrition, they run a class size of 4.

Not now. Couple of years ago would have been worth jumping into it, but not anymore.

Now I'd wait and see what happens with this industry over the next year or two, in the meantime working on obtaining ratings without going into debt (i.e. pay as you go).

Sorry, I think I may be missing what you're saying here......Not now as in "Don't friggin go" or not now as in "You won't hate/rip into me now for it if I do"

Compass update:

Our November flight ops news letter was just released and mentions the following:

"Decision has been made to resume new hire classes...
2 Classes in December,
3 classes in January,
1 class in February,
And upgrade classes schedules 1st quarter 2013"

Who knows if it could expand
