2012 Mil Pic Post

Beats me. (I was nowhere near the picture, other than it's a Mil Pic Post :) )

Maybe a Valkyrie?

(Not really. This was a collision between Joe Walker's F-104 and an XB-70 during a photoshoot.)

What is it that makes doubling more difficult? Is it just the fear of hitting the guy next to you, or is there something more physical?

It's not tougher, it's just a little unnerving. With rotors swirling above your head, I'd think it would be much more so :)

Wait, is that a Land Rover? Are you some kind of Limey!? :)

Its the "command" vehicle and its a Landy Defender 90. Got it from JSOC and worked with the privileged where I was flying. The Iraqi Po-Po/SOF paint job was sweet and the only one at the post.

Nothing spectacular in these ones. First shows what it's like looking through NVGs. Second a sand storm. Third the mindless desert we would fly over for hours to avoid populated areas... sometimes running into the sand storms in picture two. Final picture is the area around Babylon. We would fly for several hours avoiding built up areas, then come to green, populated areas where we had to be on our toes.
