1st class medical

I'm getting my first class medical this Monday. Does anybody have any suggestions or can anybody tell me what I should expect? Thanks..
 
In all seriousness: If your BP is high, make sure that they wait 10 mins before checking again. Even have them check the other arm.

Relax, it isn't that bad.
 
Well, they said instead of gettting a third class to solo I should get a first class to find out if I have any disqualifying conditions from the start.I still also need o take the written and I need I would say about ten more hours of flight before i solo, but im getting close.I am just wondering do they actually make you hop on on eleg to test your heart?haha that would be crazy..
 
When I got my First Class, the AME gave me an EKG test. I thought that was for people over 40 though...oh well.
 
I never had to cough, and never had the test with the hands...

But strangely I did have to undress for the class 1, which was unexpected. Other people going to the same doctor didn't have to...
 
Would I have to undress into the nude or just my boxers?I don't like being naked infront of strangers unless it's an attractive female AME.

Apparently there's some.... discretion. I once had the "moooooon river" test back a few years ago for a second (when I was about 30), and I've had a first since (over 40) and didn't. I've had to "cough" sometimes and not others.

If you get an attractive female AME, you need to do two things:

1) Volunteer for the "cough" test.

2) Post name, address, and phone number on JC. (HERS, not yours...)
 
I had a guy tell me to drop my drawers once-asked him why and he just said because...I stood there and then we just moved on. He never brought it up again. I thought it was strange to say the least.
 
Your boxers/briefs down to your knees so he can check for hernia. He feels for bumps and pokes around. Takes about 15seconds.
 
You pretty much will be. My shirt was off and my pants were down to my knees so you'll be almost there :)
 
Guys quit freaking out, lol. They make you cough and it takes only 10 seconds if not less. My AMEs have been professional about it. It's not like they're gonna say, "OMG, look how small you are!"

h geez lol I misread so when they check for hernias i have to lean forward with my pants and underwear down? It's 4:15 today my medical..
 
Also I was just looking into it and it says you must have the "Ability to distinguish aviation red, aviation signal green, and white. : what do they mean just colors like on instruments is it just a check for being color blind?
