150 Emergency Landing in Peachtree City (FFC)

Funny how stuff like that happens each and every day and yet no one mentions all of those successes. I get that we are a minority in aviation. What I don't get is how it is constantly pointed out, that we have to put up with snarky comments about our appearances or the surprise that we knew what we were doing. Why are there so few of us? Because of crap like that. No one likes to be judged on their accomplishments based on their gender, race or what they look like.

I never made any deragotory messages about women, appearances, or snarky comments about women in aviation. I'm not sure I can buy the argument that the reason there are so few girls in aviation is because the men in aviation are sexist or womanizer types.

Systematic sexism is systematic.

Read my post, it isn't just that but the general attitude that this is a boys club. Sure, there are a ton of supportive guys out there that are encouraging. GA is very supportive. When I went to Oshkosh, I don't think there was one pilot that didn't encourage me to get my pilots license. But the commercial attitude is much different, and it's fairly ingrained. Even the BF will make comments without even thinking about what he's saying regarding the women he flies with that make me grateful he has a long trip that week. ;)

I absolutely love flying with female Captains at my place. Some of the best pilots I have ever come across and nicest people I have met in this industry. I know the other FOs love flying with the female Captains I am talking about as well, so not sure what is ingrained like you talk about.

Why the negativity towards women?

If your BF is making comments without even thinking about women he flies with, he may want to start thinking or else he will have a pretty hard time making the jump from regional to a career destination airline.

HAHAHAHA, ok....sure......

Let me put it this way. You are here to supposedly gather information for your BF, but you are informing us your BF says sexist remarks about the folks he works with.

I don't question his work ethic, integrity, and how he got to where he is today. Had lunch with him at the MIA 'Bus facility once. Upstanding guy, his employer did a good job hiring him.
