135 interviews

I just got a phone call to interview with a 135 charter company next week. It is for an SIC position on a Jetstream 31. I was curious what a typical 135 interview was like and what should I expect. I'm sure that with all of the 135's out there they can be really different. Unlike a 121 operator I'm guessing that there won't be any sim evaluation. Anything I should remember to bring other than logbooks, medical and certificates (of course I'll remember to wear a suit). Thanks in advance! Lou

At Airnet, we have a sim eval. See if you can find any gouge on the particular operation. I've heard anything from "hey there, let me introduce you to everyone, want the job?" to the marathon 8 hour interview.

If you have anything like a passport, restricted radiotelephone permit, etc be sure to bring those too. A pen or two and a pad of paper won't be a bad idea, those "leather" notpad holders look pretty nice.

Also any letters of rec. you have and another printed copy of your resume, addresses of all your past employers and points of contact (you may have to do the 10yr background check).

Let us know how it goes! Good luck. Is it pax, freight or what?

I wonder if the interview you got is for the same job I walked in my resume to on Tuesday. Don't suppose the job is for Empire Airways at FRG? As for the interview I've heard from someone who interviewed with Empire for a SIC position in the J31 that its heavy on technical questions as opposed to HR. Don't know about a sim interview or not though.

Yup same place. Mine is Tuesday at 2pm. The chief pilot said that there are two other guys ahead of me, one at ten and noon. What else did you hear about the interview. When I spoke to him today he said that there will be a sim evaluation on a desktop pc and a knowledge quiz to "see where i am at." Do you live locally down here? Good luck to you, maybe we will run into eachother there.
