135 Airline Pilot looking for more flight time

Hello JC crew. I needed some help in finding a Pilot position that could help me get more flight time then what i am currently getting (about 50 hours/month). I wanted to fly part time for someone as i am still working for my airline. I am about 300 TT short of my R-ATP minimums. I currently fly the UIN-STL route for Cape Air.

However as i stated i am not making much flight time at my base and wanted to know if someone had any idea of positions that would take a 135 airline pilot part time to fly their operation? I have travel benefits so i could travel almost anywhere in my days off to fly for them. The struggle is just finding something part time and i am hoping someone knows something that can help me build time.

Thank you in advance.

6 months isn't too long at all and 50 hours a month isn't bad. I know it might seem like a long wait, but you're so close and 600 hours a year isn't bad at all. You might be able to fill in at some nearby jump zones flying 182s or 206s. You could also network around your airport and see if anyone flying charter wants to hire the occasional right seat pilot. You can't always log the time, but depending on the aircraft you might be able to get some dual time or log some dead legs.

@srn121 I did inquire here at the local airport but did not have any luck yet. I am going to try talking to a few more people. I also am waiting to hear back from drop zones if they want a part timer since they don't have much demand.

I wonder if i am overlooking any other things that have not crossed my mind yet in flying opportunities?

I don't know what state you're in or how far you're willing to drive, but there are lots of jump sites out there and I'm sure you can google them. If you really want to hustle and build time locate jump zones nearby and call them to see if they need a part time pilot to fill in now and then. Not every sky dive place is listed on dropzone.com.

I am guessing that you are not a cfi?

Not building much flight time...you make me laugh. 600 hrs/year is a fair amount of flight time. I was lucky to even come close to that back in the day when I was flight instructing.

@hotice Sorry to not make it more clear. I need around 325 more hours before mid-October because i wanted to get into the 121 operation as there will be a slot open near that time. But if i do not meet the hours then, I will have to wait till the following year. Hence, the need for a part time gig to make sure i make it this year. Hope that clears it up.

It's extremely unlikely that you hit that. You could got to almost any regional with restricted ATP mins. What's so special about one particular 121?

Unfortunately i had to move away from the NE where i was averaging 105 hours/month so i was extremely likely to hit the mins. But i had to move back to help out my family. I have a commitment with Cape Air for one year so i do not want to break that. They work with United in Micronesia to fly their ATRs so i would like to serve my time there and get some 121 experience. Hence why I am not going to any other company and looking for a part time flying opportunity to meet my R-ATP mins.
