100k Bonus to transfer

Hmm. Maybe someone can go back in time to 1981 and tell Reagan what was going to happen when he fired over 11,000 controllers.

I suppose a silver lining to this is that it gives controllers -- especially experienced ones -- a lot more leverage when it comes to working out better arrangements with the FAA... or at least that'd be my expectation, correct me if I'm wrong there. With the FAA between a rock and a hard place when it comes to staffing, along with growing media attention, you'd expect them to feel more pressure than ever to take care of their current workforce.

Its un-stoppable now....with the massive trend of new controllers entering, in 20-25 yeas, it will be the same thing all over again...

I wonder if a controller at New York TRACON would be willing to spend 100k to get transferred out? lol

You're kidding right. The retirement wave we are experiencing right now is unprecedented. People with 6-10 years before they turn 56 and have to retire are leaving immediately when they are eligible. Read some of my other posts and see.

Do you know anyone who is transferring for the $$$$$$$

No. If they are, then they are doing nothing more than helping the FFAA get out of their self-made mess. And I won't do that.

BTW my father-in-law, the most senior flight engineer on the L-1011 when he retired, lost all of his retirement when Delta stopped paying to the USPBGC. do ya it sucks.

My dad also lost his pension. If he had been born 2 months earlier he could have collected. Tough break.
