Absentee Dad of the OOTSK, Runner, Cat Frustrator
That's how long it had been since I last flew as a pilot. On Monday, I couldn't take it anymore! I got checked out on a 172 at a local airport and took my wife and one of our daughters up for some sight seeing. It was a blast! It had easily been over 3 years since I flew anything piston powered and less than 2 engines. When I rotated that thing during the checkout, I knew it was going to be a good day. It all felt like riding a bike. Well, of my 8 landings, maaaaybe one was alright. The rest were quite fun. I'm pretty sure I muttered "come on wind, work with me" during the last flare with the girls. I think I somehow managed to not scare them
