My Moms told me that back in the day, they told her at NWA.. "If you ever accidentally deploy the slide.. just slide down it.. then keep going."
They're not cheap, apparently.

They're definitely not. I've only seen them accidentally blown by mechanics so replacement wasn't a problem. I do understand, however, that they can be sent back to the manufacturer to be repacked.
