If you are having trouble with V1 cuts in the -200, ask your instructor if you can do a few while you sit on your hands.
V1 cuts are all about rudder and maintaining directional control.
I'll have to second this.
I've only flown with one person in the past 6 months that had a corporate background. Outside of that, it has all been flow through pilots.
@bc2209
That is incorrect information. There are no more "limited" jumpseat agreements with AA anymore.
If there are seats in the back by the time they get to you on the priority list, you get a seat in the back, regardless of any other jumpseaters listed.
That's easy:
Airline Captain
If there is doubt, take a look at the number of passengers who are boarded in a wheelchair, yet miraculously can walk off the airplane at their destination.
:D
Finally used the charts this past trip. I think I am going to like the new format.
When I first took the training that was offered, I thought the charts were a little busy, but after using them, they aren't that bad.
Even with the new JeppFD-Pro update that made it easier to switch between...
The way you wrote it was misleading. Sounded like you were saying that riding you own jumpseat internationally was TSA approves, but no one had implemented the policy yet.

The jumpseat is offered to any carrier that has a reciprocal agreement with Alaska. OAL pilots should report to the departure gate at least 30 minutes, but no more than 1 hour prior to departure and...
I'd say since everyone right now is looking up at Delta, then yes... Virginia Ave is extremely relevant right now. Even to those of us who don't work for them.
@Mavmb
It's not complicated. You're traveling 7 nm/min and it is going to take 6 minutes to descend at that rate. 42 miles to complete at those numbers.
@Bandit_Driver
I was simply pointing out that LAA was never commuter friendly. The limited/unlimited policy reflected that mindset.
Thankfully, that went away with the merger and everyone is now unlimited.
@Dan208B
Complicated probably doesn't scratch the surface:D
I think that the implementation of the jumpseat reservation system for AA pilots took up a lot of time and IT resources. Really didn't give an opportunity to change much else. That and at the time, the APA BOD was heavily entrenched...
I will though :D
Is it sad that I get treated better by Southwest and Delta than I do my own airline? :bang:
I still wish the entire jumpseat system from US Airways had survived the merger... :(
You have to remember, being a PIC qualified First Officer for domestic operations is only something that has happened in the past few years. Prior to the 1500 hour/ATP ruled, all you needed was a commercial certificate to legally operate a transport category jet as a First Officer in Part 121...
Cancelled a full day of flying. Scheduled to deadhead back to base, but elected to take a space positive deviation home. Plenty of open seats when I had scheduling make the reservation, yet no seats in in the appropriate "class code". Sat and watched as they dumped over sale after over sale in...
@learhawkerbe400
The appendix of the Flight 831 document has a really good section on decoding the HI screens in Sabre. Helps a ton.
CatCrew was modern compared to this.
Did you have any cancellations?
@learhawkerbe400
It might be that way at Envoy, but you don't have to know any of the archaic stuff for reserve on our side of the operation. Between CCI and the Sabre portion of the APA app, you're pretty well covered.
