You can oversquare the seminole at 26/24 or so, close the cowl flaps and get 150-155 indicated pretty easily. Makes getting out to the practice area pretty quick.

The 550 guy went to ATP. I think they have a contract for guaranteed interviews or something after so much time instructing, not sure of the details. He said he went from zero time last June to the interview that day. That is working your a$$ off!

Doug, Could DAL mgt. tell Comair to fly lines that Delta currently flies? I understand Comair is owned by Delta, but could Comair be forced to fly this "struck work"?

The pilot escaped? Did he bail out or something? I find it hard to believe that if the army was there when they landed that he just ran away/past them. Or perhaps someone in the army was "on the take" and "let" his escape?

Thanks! Hours were 1000TT and 300 Multi. Some with more, most with less. One guy that got hired had 550TT and 150 Multi.

What is the deal with the Teamsters. I don't know much about them but they seem to be farily well disliked by a large percentage of the aviation world. I am interviewing with Horizon on March 6th and I understand they are represented by the teamsters.

From what I understand they are hiring about 10 per month for the year. Got it from a pretty good source. I understand they are getting 12 Q400's this year so they gotta have somebody to fly them. That info is from a buddy of mine that is and FO in the Dash 8 so I am thinking its fairly good...

Mesa isn't the only place folks are getting hired right now. Recently quite a few guys/gals are getting on with American Eagle and Continental Express also. I also heard from a Chataqua FO that came back to visit that they are going to start hiring again big time in a couple months.

I just thought I would mention that last weekend DCA sent three Seminoles (with the rear seats removed) to Tampa to pick up about 400 lbs of supplies in each plane for the hurricane victims and then flew it all down there. 1200 pounds of supplies isn't much, but every bit helps.

the 500 number is close i think, but that would include the branch campuses as well. the last numbers i heard here at the main campus were about 250, so if you include the other four bases 500 seems about right. the next few enrollments plus 47 new chineese students should increase that number...
