I was in captain upgrade this week. I’d say 10/38 were sub 2 year captains. The senior guy was 31 years on property and the junior guy was 13 months.

He lucked up and there was a vacancy he was able to bid in. He was awarded the 756 before he started 777 fleet training. It was legit. He received no special treatment.

Time will tell. As of now they’re saying the 321 NEO will be on property next spring and we are expected to do some Europe with them at some point from EWR and IAD. The 321 XLR won’t be on property until 2024.

I’m DCA based. I’d be above the G line in every base except DCA, ORD, and IAH. In DCA I missed the G line by 1 for April. 737 guys are flying their tails off. Ive been on property for just over 7 months and the class this week puts almost 1500 pilots below me. The hiring right now is insane.

I left my regional last year. I was 40% in base and an LCA. My worst day at my legacy is better than my best day at the regionals. Congrats on moving on!

Too lazy to do my RJ flying. This is since starting my new job in August. I fly the Airbus at UA. About 140 hours flown since hitting the line in October. Done for the year due to the rona.

Flash cards for limitations and memory items. After class I always go to the room and relax. Maybe read over my notes for 15-20 minutes before bed. My first type rating was a fire hose. My last 3 have all been AQP and found this works for me.

Like Finny said not being offered to new hires yet. Guys can hold it in their first bid though. There are rumblings that Jan/Feb will have 777/787 in the base drops. EWR had unfilled 777 and 787 in this bid.

I’ve been on property 4 months and could have held the 777 at my home airport. Crazy times

I was a regional LCA with about 6k hours, college degree and a veteran (enlisted). I start class tomorrow so I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before you hear something. We’re hiring like crazy. Since May United has hired about 20% of the check airman from my previous regional.

I failed a couple classes and graduated with a 2.6. Still got 2 legacy interviews and got hired at one of them. Don’t sweat it.

I was told we’re hiring into a pool. We used to average 130~ hard lines in Philly pre covid and were back up to 73 for July. Things are steadily picking up

This morning has felt the most normal than any day since this all started. We had 34 on our 50 seater and were 9 in line for takeoff. Terminal was fairly busy compared to what’s been normal.

Hit two major milestones this week Started off by logging my 1,000th hour of turbine PIC and to top it off I passed my line check airman check tonight. It’s been a pretty good week.
