I wish people weren't always flying the race flag because they are too simple to figure out another way the comment could have been taken. It is a sad state of affairs when you are looking for a reason to cry foul when there isn't even one there.

Hey guys, I'm to to this forum and this site...as a matter of fact I just stumbled upon you guys when I googled the At-Sat to get some kind of study guide and all of your input helped me tremendously. As a matter of fact, I only thought to google the test 12 hours before I took it. Given my score, I'd say this forum helped out alot... Anyway, I'm just joining the PUBNAT 4 waiting room and I'm excited that I'm already having fun and this is only the beginning. :rawk:

I'm not sure if anyone covered this, but why does everyone always apply for pubnats other than the one they took the AT-SAT for? :confused: Does this give the applicant an advantage of some sort?

It doesn't give you an advantage in the specific PUBNAT, but should you not be picked during the PUBNAT that you initially applied for (and the AT-SAT) for, then you have a chance of being picked up in the other PUBNATS.

*Don't worry, I didn't know this at the time I applied for ONLY PUBNAT2 :banghead:

Hrmm...keeps your application current?

The way i've understood it is that it keeps pushing it through the process. You should actually apply to all the applications after your initial one.

And not to mention, if you dont get chosen for the panels when they meet, it means your score can be carried over and you can be considered again for the next PUBNAT.

So for instance: I apply for PUBNAT4, test and all. Then i dont get chosen when the panels meet. But since my application is in for PUBNAT5 when they meet again, and they have room, i can be considered for that one.

VS. the scenario of them not choosing your PUBNAT4 and then theres room for PUBNAT5 but it doesnt matter since you're not included in that phase.

Make sense?

Kinda...in a sense...but once you get picked for a location and you accept it, you're application no longer sits in the remaining pool of PUBNATS.

  • 10/08/2008 10:39:31 AM (Central Time): An AT-SAT score of 70 or above is necessary for passing. Your score was 97. Eligible applicants are categorized as "well qualified" or "qualified" based on AT-SAT scores.
So when everybodys done testing for pub4 we should get geo pref emails a month later?

Congrats on your 97. I got an 89. I am interested to know when we should be getting geo pref e-mails as well. Anyone know the time frame?
 
I've been looking at the PUBNAT3 thread, and it looks like they haven't even gotten their Geo. Pref emails yet. As far as I can tell, everyone is saying that the next panel won't be meeting until January, so they're thinking that PUBNAT3 and 4 will be thrown together. I guess we can probably expect our emails sometime in November.

No, it's not "thinking" - one of the heads of HR sent me this:

"The next selection panels at this time are scheduled for Jan 09, i am not
sure how many of the announcements they will be using at that time, but
would be for sure they will at the least use #3."
 
Hmm..will be interesting if 3 and 4 are combined..that would thrown a wrench into all line of thinking about how things are worked during the app process..wonder if that will make me 88.3 harder to get selected being that we're being pooled together..
