Antonov 225 using every foot of runway

that it does...:banghead:

Just had the link sent to me and he An-225 in the email.

Soooooooooo what is the BFL on an Ilyushin 76?

Hah. Roos are always such a bunch of smartasses.

"We have smirnoff!"
"You're gonna have to go faster than that..."
"I'm running out of film, hope I've got enough to film the crash"

:D

Not a -225 but an IL-76. The -124 is the Ruslan and the -225 (the Myria or Dream) was designed to carry the Buran, the Soviet space shuttle.

There has been efforts to re-engine the IL-76 with western engines but that has not happened.

Safety record for the IL-76

NATO Candid ??
As pointed out not even the same manufacturer. An 124 (c5ski) and a IL76 (c141ski) could easily be mistaken but not for the 6 engine split vertical stab AN 225 (>1 million lb GTOW)

nice vr V1 split... Not

Capable machine but just like all flying machines, you want to watch the numbers when you are computing your required runway to get airborne.
This is the M but like the USAF and its -141s, the Russians have stretched the -76 with the MF. The tanker version is the -78 Midas. The Russians have also done a version with the disc as their AWACs.

Note in the second photo the not-unusual use of 4 tires on the nose gear and a double bogie for the mains.
