Anyone else turn down a PEPC for a local interview?

I had my interview yesterday. Went well- We talked for around an hour, and then went up in the tower and watched some planes take off- it was very mellow.

He asked a bunch of questions not on the list on the sticky, if I remember what those were I will post them there.

So glad it's over, and can't wait for the letter- he knew I was stationed in San Diego, but didn't know which facility- I will have to wait for the TOL to find out, he said. I have some vague hopes that maybe I will still make it to be processed before everyone at the PEPC in August and will get an earlier class date.

I'm so ready to go!!!

keeping this post updated in the spirit of things-- my non-pepc interview date is August 26th. Could have gone sooner but my current schedule is a bit too hectic, so I was fine with putting it off a bit.

If any of y'all have updates on your non-pepc progress plz let me (us) know!

As of this last monday I am all done with paperwork, physical, etc. So now i just wait and wait for the FOL. I have no idea how long this will take? from what i hear its a couple months for the background to clear. Also i am going terminal and from what other threads are saying they are not filling any more slots till october. I am fine with this though! A few more months doesnt seem like much since i applied way back summer of 2007. I just hope i pass everything okay, as i did have a bankruptsy 6 years ago.

anyone gotten a FOL that has gone the non pepc route?

I got my FOL but my process was slightly different as I was a VRA applicant.

Here is my timeline if your interested.

When I had my interview on July 14th, the manager of the tower told me that if I hadn't heard anything in 3 weeks to start calling around. Well, it's been 3.5 weeks and still nothing. I called Brenda Rogers and she said that she is working on 60 TOL's and I can expect to hear something in the next few weeks!:banghead: So much for under 3 weeks. Just thought I would share that tid bit of info for y'all.

I know the feeling, check out my timeline (posted a couple posts above this one). I had to tell the person responsible for my TOL 5 weeks after my interview I hadn't received it yet. Her response? "Hmm I wonder why I didn't send you one yet? I'll do it now because I leave for 2 weeks tomorrow"

Still waiting for my TOL...

So who is the best person to call for an update? Not Kameron Upshaw? If anyone has a name and phone number, I'd appreciate it. Or you can PM me if you don't want to post it.

Good Luck folks... here's hoping they come soon! I still have to get through all the physicals and everything.

Just had my interview. There were about 25 questions that I got asked. Mostly team work and stressful situations where things went well and when they didn't go well.
As for how the interview went, I think it went well. The interviewer said that if I didn't hear anything within 3 or 4 weeks to give her a call. So now the waiting game begins again.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who is having trouble getting the TOL. 4 weeks now and nothing. I'm already seeing people who graduated a semester after me get academy dates.

Hey all,

I just thought I would go ahead and give my timeline as it seems that I have gotten a bit further than those that applied in Feb like I did and chose the non-PEPC process.

2/2008 - Applied
3/2008 - ATSAT (well qualified)
4/2008 - PEPC Invite (Chicago or LA, non PEPC process)
5/2008 - Nothing
6/2008 - Pre-employment Interview (ORL ATCT)
7/2008 - TOL (N90, NY TRACON), paperwork, fingerprint cards
7/18/2008 - All paperwork sent and medical done (except MMPI)
8/5/2008 - MMPI Taken
8/5/2008 - Present - Waiting for medical and security clearances.

Keep in mind that I had a top secret clearance when I was in the military (got out 7/2006). And also I am a Commercial Pilot and Flight Instructor with a current 1st class medical. The medical has to be done by an FAA Aviation Medical Examiner, which they will give you the name and number to. I was told today that the MMPI results could take about a month and the background (security) usually takes around 2 months. So be patient and as dumb as it sounds, the faster you get your stuff done that is under your control (paperwork and such), the better it will be. But definitly do not lose touch with the people in OKC. they will help you as much as they can, but they are willing to. I hope this helps a little bit people, but feel free to ask anything as I will share whatever I know.

A MONTH for the MMPI??? wow I hope thats just what the voices in your head are saying....
Well, the dr that looks at them is doing his reserve duty for the Army. Also, it isn't the results per say, but the entire medical clearance that takes a month or so. I am going through it now, so believe me or don't, that is fine.

No man, I believe you, it sounds like you have more info than I do. I wasnt poking fun - just really really hoping it wasnt on that much of a delay - sorry if I sounded harsh, that wasnt my intent
