Our group will not even be done testing until the end of this week. There is nothing we can do to speed the process up, if anything a bunch of phone calls will slow the process. Just have patience and look for you geo pref. email to come out next week sometime.anyway to get the ball moving a little faster, maybe by calling or actually going to visit...?
sorry if this is a stupid question but after looking at all the threads i cant find what is actually meant by all these acronyms...i found out what the pepc is, but TOL? and i'm interested in a local tower interview so is the pepc process something i will go trough or will it be an acutal tower facility thats understafffed.
But say your invited to the LA PEPC what are the opportunities that could come from that. center and approach facilities from all over the country, or just in the LA region...if there's another thread that clearly explains all this point me in the right direction but otherwise thanks for all your help...its really relives a lot of stress when your getting furloughed to know you have a few options as a back up plan
Well, i did my tour of ZTL this morning. It was the most amazing thing that i have ever seen. If anyone gets a chance to tour a facility take it. Everyone was very nice and helpful. one of the instructors was kind enough to give me a packet that was sent to him from an OKC Academy student, which included the map that we will need to know, and many of the tests. They also gave me the (correct me if i am wrong) 7110.65 book which i believe contains all of the phraseology that we will need to know. over all it was a very good experience, but makes me that more impatient to get to OKC.
I knew the guy who is over the training for ZTL(contract employee) so it was easy for me to get it set up.you've probably been asked a hundred times but any suggestions on how to get a tour? i e-mailed and called my facility, only to get no answer. ....lost....
When we select geographic preferences, we'll pick 2 states and terminal, enroute, or both. Then when we get our emails, it'll say something like "You have been selected for a terminal position in the state of [state]"... the PEPC location makes no difference. You could be offered Boston tower and go to an LA PEPC.
Is there any way to influence who your offer may come from or do we pretty much need to take whatever comes our way?
I know I've said it before, but I'm sweating bullets over here thinking that I might get arbitrarily placed in a level 12 facility and have no recourse.
As far as we all know, there's not a whole lot you can do to sway it one way or the other. I think the best thing you can do is put any specifics in the comments section of your geographic prefferences, and hope they take whatever you write into account. Thats what I plan on doing.

I went to the NATCA website & emailed my local NATCA leader/director. He emailed me back that same day with his phone# and got me set up to tour with him tomorrow. Maybe your facility is busier and doesn't have as quick of a response time?
I just went to the NATCA website and I couldn't figure out how to find the list for contact info. Do you have to sign up for the site to access this? I tested last week and just got my score.
