For those of you who interviewed on June 10th/11th/12th, have you heard anything? If you are not offered the job, how long does it take from the time of the interview to get the "letter" in the mail?

I interviewed on the 11th, haven't heard anything and not expecting to anymore. A few people who interviewed the same day as I did got rejection letters in the mail. It's been 9 days already. They had said 7-10 days. I'll probably get a rejection letter in the mail tomorrow.

My friend got a rejection letter today. He interviewed with 1300/180 give or take.

Either he blew the interview, or they are getting picky. But with how volatile this industry is, I would be surprised to be put into a class date in August this far out and actually expect to get it.

Ditto...

Comair Stopped Hiring

Just an FYI. Comair is no longer interviewing and has started canceling scheduled interviews. I forsee classes being canceled as well. As of now there is a pool of applicants.

Airlines are really strange in their hiring practices.....it seems as though total flight time/quals doesn't matter.

A coworker at the FBO I work at had a class date of July and it was canceled. Looks like a hiring pool is forming...

The hiring door is now closed! With the "F" worrd being thrown around several times today, it might be a while till it opens, unless they can repeal Age 65.

Yeah they threw around the F word some during the conference call for everyone. Not sure what type of workers it is or if it will actually happen. Guess we'll enjoy the summer flying while it lasts!

Well only union represented employess can be furloughed. Everyone else has to either get canned, voluntarily leave or take one of those early retirement packages. So I'm inclined to deduce that the "F" word is concerning the pilots and FA's since Selvaggio and Soaper are meeting with ALPA and the IBT next week. I'm hoping that they will offer ealry retirements to the senior pilots and FA's, so they don't have to furlough from the junior ranks.

True...I was surprised they rejected some of the higher-time applicants yet I got a job offer (before we sank into the ocean) at much lower-times than average.

one week, i was told, yea we're hiring, come apply.... so 2 weeks later i went to apply, and got "sorry, we'll be furloughing people, no new pilots"

thanks comair

Don't take it personally, its just the nature of our industry. Most of these companies will be hiring up until the day of furlough. I agree its an ignorant practice but most of the people that do the hiring have absolutely no clue what upper managements plans are.
