Anybody else sitting in the parking lot that PHL has become? We were the third to last arrival to make it in and at least made it just short of the gate before the ramp closed. S and SA were full when we landed and 35 is shut down and full of planes.
 
They ought to just get everybody in the PHL area a safe distance away for as long as need be and drop a nuke on that airport and start over.

btw what is your source? I would love to know in detail things like this instead of hearing it on Channel 7 about delays at EWR, LGA, and JFK;)
 
Yeah, this was my first time listening to this is a few years. I tuned in to JFK ground and they are talking about 50-60 airplanes sitting at the runway, and ground told everybody on freq to shut down. Ouch.

Yeah, Taxiway Charlie is also used for parking. TRACON is allowing some flights to leave that are departing to the east to HAPIE and BETTE, but the pilots decided that they did not want to "fly into that stuff" (smart guys).
 
The line of cells to the south and east of the airport are Level 5's and 6's and they contain microbursts.

...But on the bright side, PHL is up and running now.

did you type this from the left seat sitting on the ramp? Ahh, the world of wireless. :D
 
That's horrendous. I don't think I've ever seen that site display a departure delay of that much before.

(and wow taking and saving screenshots on this Mac are way easier than windows was)

Seriously...waiting on the ground for 375 minutes to depart is crazy. But hey, more money for the pilots, right? That is until they exceed their duty time (which a few JetBlue crews did this evening).
