I too am on the list. Very excited, but I have a lot of friends at the Memphis Center who have been snooping for me, and they found out that there are only 10 openings left. Nowhere near the 33 I had heard needed to be filled this year. They say there will be more next year, but I applied june of 07!
So, my question is: If we are NOT picked for an interview, how will we be informed? I've been on the referral list for the june 07 announcement for 2 months and I know several people that were invited to PEPC's, hired, and are at training now. ASAP still says I'm on that referral list, but now I'm also on the Feb 08 referral list and haven't received any word for the 07 announcement.

I am on the list too! I found out Friday night and emailed the manager at my preferred location this morning. In May I took a tour of the tower with a friend who works there and everyone told me to email the manager to see if he could get me in. I was holding out until I knew for sure I was on the referal list but I didn't realize they would make the referal list a couple of days before the managers made thier decisions.
Oh well, I will take whatever I can get.

Hey, I grew up in Delray...but anyway, how did you find out why you weren't chosen? Did you call OKC or did it say on your ASAP page? My husband wasn't selected. He's got the job experience and was "well qualified." So this whole thing isn't making much sense.

I understand my friend...but don't even think of quitting until you have an academy date set. I quit my job at the end of december...and well...I wasn't down here until April...so....lol
Learn from me. Suck it up for a little bit longer and save up a little cash for the academy heheTennisPlayer

Good lookin out AUPilotAU. I'm anticipating that kinda wait...but that wont be as hard of a wait knowing that I have the job! Another stressful two weeks I guess.

I made the referral list (again). Geo-pref: VA then WV (Towers only--excluded DCA in VA)
Has anyone found out what states will be meeting and when they will be meeting? I've heard 2 different responses...1) All states meet June 10th 2) All qualified applicants will be referred by June 10th--with states meeting in July/August.
Also (in the past) if you make a referral list and don't get selected you are NOT notified that you were not selected. In the past, it has been typically 2-4wks (sometimes in as little as 1-2wks) after a state has met that you should expect to hear something. I preface all of that with "in the past" b/c they consistently change their procedures and this June 10th date is another example.
If someone has to call the FAA this week, ask them when and which states are meeting first and let us know. It is the next thing we get to look forward to

So how are we supposed to know if we didn't get selected??? That's incredibly (and it sounds silly in this context, but) unprofessional. It's as if the people who didn't get selected aren't their problem anymore, so why not keep them checking ASAP 3 times a day to get the hits up. How much more work would it be to send an automated email notifying that the selection process for a particular opening is finished and unfortunately I was not selected?
Sorry to vent like this, but as if waiting a year to get ON the referral list isn't enough... we have to wait until we die to find out we didn't get an interview???:bandit:

FYI. Once you made the referral list and are selected you will be contacted either e-mail, phone. There is no more contact made for that announcement through ASAP once you have made a referral list for that announcement.

I was contacted by email exactly 14 days after the Indiana panel was completed in early May. I hope the decision-making and notification is as quick on this application.
Go to your applications tab and click on "Submitted" under the status.. referral list information should be there...

Yes, I heard well within two weeks. But some of my classmates did not

Actually, no. It would only let me apply for throughout the nation, at least for that particular announcement. I added my preferences about a month ago when I got an automated email that was sent out.
Yeah, I was referring to the geo pref email. It only allowed for two states. Did you just put in comments section that you were interested in three different locations in three different states?
